Get Shone The Light
Every once in a while, I discover a great show that, for whatever reason, I never really listened to back in the day. It doesn’t happen often, but when
...
it does, it still genuinely excites - even after all these years. Like finding a diamond sitting in plain sight and wondering how the hell I missed it all this time. That happened tonight when I spun the wayback wheel and landed on this date and recording. I started with the set 1 closing Let It Grow and, bloody hell, it blew my socks clean off. Must’ve been something in the ether that night (or possibly actual ether, it was 1978 after all). Jerry ferociously attacks the jam (starting about 4:20) and unleashes wave after wave of rapid fire searing lines and thunderous peaks. Yeah, whoa. The entire 2d set is a rager, starting with a booming Samson and ending with a powerhouse Playing reprise and Passenger encore. Be sure to check out the spectacular St. Stephen and surrounding jams, which feel like a mini “best of ‘77” review. O’h it’s a keeper alright. Run don’t walk to this one.

The only game in town..
This is a top notch show. There are many high intensity jams flirting with meltdowns especially Jerry! Let it grow thru PITB reprise-Wow. Passenger is
...
a rockin' encore.
